DJ's Tug of War club is based in Lakeville, MN. Our club is part of the United States Amateur Tug of War Association (USATOWA) which was formed in 1978 and is made up of clubs from Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We are also a part of the Tug of War International Federation (TWIF) which holds Competitions throughout the World. Some of the countries we have competed include Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Sweden, South Africa, and the Netherlands. We are currently training for the 2010 Outdoor World Championships which will be held in Pretoria, South Africa in September.

Many people have competed in Tug of War competitions in their youth either at school or family picnics. For us the sport of Tug of War is much different. Tug of War takes years to master and lots of practice to be able to compete at a World Class level. We typically train 3 days a week during a regular season and 4 to 5 days a week when preparing for a World Championship. This training includes lots of cardio, strength training. and rope work.
