DJ's is a local tug of war club.We are based in Minnesota and organize
competitions and events throughout the state.Unlike many sports, we do not compete just locally but travel throughout
the US and the World for competitions.Our goal is to win the gold medal and to be the best in the
world.We have achieved this goal in
the past and continue to train and strive to compete on a world championship
level.
As a club we recruit men and women
of all ages and train throughout the year to maintain our endurance and
ability.The US Amateur Tug of War
Association recently developed a youth level and this has expanded our club
further in the last year.The expanded
membership has allowed us to increase our local promotion of the sport
throughout Minnesota.
This year we
will host six Minnesota events including US Nationals, which qualify a team
for the right to represent the US in the 2008 World Championships in
Gothenburg, Sweden.
One of our
main focuses this year is to grow our youth team to get high school age
children involved in this great team opportunity. Tug of war instills respect for their
teammates and their opponents. The
training and competition also helps them prepare for their high school team
sports. Watching them grow and celebrate
their victories over the last year has inspired us and rejuvenated our
enthusiasm for the sport. It has also
brought a multigenerational aspect to our club that has helped us grow stronger
bonds.
DJ's 7th Annual Golf Tournament is August 1st, 2008 at Creeks
